Living Chapters is operated by Pine and Summit Digital LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). Pine and Summit Digital LLC is the data controller responsible for your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address for authentication and account management purposes.
User Content
We store the reflection entries you create within the App. These entries are associated with your account.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data beyond what you voluntarily choose to include in your reflections.
AI-Generated Features
The App uses artificial intelligence to transform your reflections into beautifully written narrative chapters of your life story.
These AI features process your content solely to provide in-app functionality. Your reflections are not used to train public or third-party AI models, and we do not use your content for advertising, profiling, marketing, or model training. AI features within the App do not make automated decisions that produce legal, financial, health, or similarly significant effects concerning you.
Usage and Diagnostic Information
We may collect limited usage and diagnostic information to maintain and improve App performance. This may include crash reports, device type, app version, and general interaction data. This information is used solely for operational improvements and is not used for advertising, profiling, cross-app tracking, or behavioral targeting.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide and maintain the App's core functionality. This includes:Authenticating your account

Generating AI-written narrative chapters from your entries
Processing subscription purchases
Managing access to premium features
Maintaining and improving stability, security, and performanceWe do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or third parties for marketing.
Data Storage and Security
User data is stored securely using Supabase, a third-party backend infrastructure provider. Data is encrypted in transit. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information.

Please note that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
Your data remains associated with your account until you choose to delete it. We do not automatically delete inactive accounts.
If you wish to have your data removed, please see the Account and Data Deletion section below.
Account and Data Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time within the App under:
Settings → Delete Account
Upon deletion, your stored data will be permanently removed from our systems.

Children's Privacy
Living Chapters is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact [email protected] and we will promptly delete it.

International Users
Living Chapters is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
Third-Party Services
The App uses:Supabase — for authentication and secure data storage
Apple's in-app purchase system — for subscription processing
RevenueCat — for subscription management and entitlement validationThese services act as data processors on our behalf and process personal information solely according to our instructions to provide core App functionality. We do not integrate third-party advertising networks, cross-app tracking services, or behavioral advertising platforms.

By downloading or using Living Chapters (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Use of the App
The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use only. You agree to use the App in a lawful and respectful manner.
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App or its content without our express written permission.
You may not use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our systems or interfere with any other party’s use of the App.
Not Medical Advice
Living Chapters is intended for personal reflection and storytelling only. It is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, therapeutic, or crisis support.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact a qualified professional or crisis service in your area.
Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Please notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
User Content
You retain full ownership of the reflections you create within the App.
By using the App, you grant Pine and Summit Digital LLC a limited license to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the App’s functionality, including generating AI-written narrative chapters from your reflections.
We do not access, review, analyze, or use your reflections for any purpose beyond delivering App functionality, except as required to comply with applicable law.
Subscriptions and Billing
Living Chapters offers auto-renewing subscription plans. The free tier provides access to Chapter 1. Pro plans unlock all chapters, genre switching, and image sharing.
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate confirmed at the time of purchase.
Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store refund policy.
If a free trial is offered, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings:

Limitation of Liability
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pine and Summit Digital LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
Our total liability shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Worcester County, Massachusetts.
